Dai Truong received a Bachelor of Arts from California State
Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1980. Born in Vietnam and grew up
during the war, Truong had traveled the world in his early years as a
son of a diplomat. His artistic inclination was evident by the age of
five. He had utilized his creative realm as a refuge from his
constantly changing environment and the ultimate upheaval of many
Vietnamese lives by the change of regime in 1975. Since, he has been
relentlessly pursuing his artistic calling against all odds. For
Truong, art is his voice, his lasting legacy, his soul. Truong's work
is extensive, both in quantity and the diversity of style, ranging
from his earlier surreal, figurative drawings to his expressionistic,
abstract paintings.
